Kenya AA Kainamui is a highly celebrated specialty coffee microlot that embodies the vibrant and complex characteristics defining Kenya’s finest coffees. This exceptional coffee originates from the Kirinyaga region on the fertile, southern slopes of Mount Kenya, a terroir globally renowned for its deep, nutrient-dense volcanic soil and ideal equatorial climate.
The coffee is produced by approximately 1,800 smallholder farmers affiliated with the New Ngariama Farmers Cooperative Society. Notably, about 40% of these local producers are women. Each family manages a small plot of land averaging less than half a hectare, carefully tending to roughly 200 coffee trees alongside crops like macadamia, tea, and bananas.
Cherries are hand-sorted and delivered to the Kainamui Factory (washing station), which has strictly managed processing quality since 1963.
