Just a quick update blog post for you about the renovations at Albion after the flood.  

Neighbourhood Coffee Roasters in Albion has severely flooded, but we are not dwelling on the negative, only looking forward to the future re-fit and renovation of the space and how we an keep delivering coffee beans to you in the meanwhile!

Christmas Hampers are underway again at Neighbourhood Coffee Roasters!

This year we have brought in some beautiful Robert Gordon ceramics to our retail section.  We are selling as individual pieces for in our own in store hampers. 

With coffee bean storage, like anything you are trying to keep freshness and flavour in, oxygen and UV light and humidity are the enemy.  At the very best, you should buy your beans whole instead of ground if you can and seal it in an airtight dark place. If you are serious about your coffee then you might invest in an Airscape.

As many of you who have been to our roastery in Albion we have a beautiful courtyard where we from time to time grow herbs and other things to add to our sandwiches.  I also have a large kitchen garden at home and am a avid gardener with my kids.  I feel it's important to know where your food comes from and how to grow it.

Locked inside the seed of every coffee cherry is the potential for flavour. We strive to unlock that flavour so that it reaches the customer every time. We pride ourselves on sourcing, roasting, brewing and experimenting with only the highest quality specialty Arabica coffee from all over the world.

We had a fantastic night here at Neighbourhood holding an event for the Brisbane Open House scheme. They asked us to host a talk about revitalising industrial spaces.  Below is the introduction that they gave us on the website...

This delicious coffee lovers dessert comes from Italy, Tiramisu literally means 'pick me up' or 'cheer me up'..always a lovely end to a meal.  This is such a great desert to make for dinner parties as you can do it the day before and it tastes even better.  Obviously freshly brewed coffee tastes best!

We are so thrilled to be locating our roaster and opening a cafe in the Albion Fine Trades. Thank you to all our loyal customers and friends for helping us get here.
